MY ROLE
UX designer, designing and developing a web app for Cerrosud, from conception to delivery.
RESPONSABILITIES
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs. I also fully developed the website using Wordpress.
THE PROBLEM
Customers need a way to discover all Cerrosud's products and easily request a quote online.
THE GOAL
Design and develop a web-based application that allows users to view all available products and request a quote online.
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was professionals with busy schedules.
Nevertheless, the research revealed that time availability was not the only user's problem. Other problem included was not having enough information about the artwork or artists.
TIME
Customers have limited time to attend to the showroom.
OPTIONS
Difficulty in finding the products that meet their project requirements, among numerous suppliers and options.
VISUALIZATION
Difficulty to visualise how the tiles shown in the showroom will look at their home.

GOALS
• Get to know the latest trends in tiles.
• Easily compare different tiles models.
• Get detailed product descriptions, high-resolution images, and accurate measurements to ensure the tiles will fit perfectly into his clients' spaces.
FRUSTRATIONS
• Limited time to go to the showroom, as he has to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Can't get the desired information about the products he needs for his projects.
Sebastian is an experienced architect working for an architectural firm. He specializes in designing residential and commercial spaces, focusing on creating aesthetically pleasing and functional environments for his clients. He values access to a comprehensive catalog of tile images and samples to accurately visualize and present design ideas to his clients.
Before beginning the design process, it was necessary to structure the website and its functionalities. I prioritized the correct visualization of the product catalog and the quote request process. My goal was to make the processes simple and straightforward.
The product quote request represents the main function of the website. To simplify the process, I focused on not requesting a lot of information from the client, so that there were no barriers to the user.
As a result, the request for quotation process was straightforward and easy to use.
The website met the goal of creating a user-centric experience that meets the needs of the business.
Cerrosud now has an extremely useful tool for the client and the company.
Customers can know in depth the products offered by the company. On the other hand, sellers can use the website to display product details within the showroom. Despite the fact that the site currently does not allow direct purchase, the company has significantly increased sales to clients located in nearby cities.
When comparing site visit statistics, there is a significant improvement over the previous site. This can be seen from the data presented below.
